Valerie Mey

After graduating from Salve Regina University with a Marketing and International Studies in 2007, I jumped straight into the business world.  This  gave me valuable experience with business and working with people.  I have a passion to make a difference in people’s lives and my business experience has taught me how.  I am now excited to launch Nutrition Breakthru which will help my clients to realize optimal health through nutrition and a balanced lifestyle.

As a child I was lactose intolerant and a  few years ago I, once again, found myself having digestion and emotional imbalances. After following the dietary recommendations made by my naturopath,  I was able to pin point what was causing my imbalances and reconnect with my body. Since then I have realized that the changes that I have made in my diet and my life have had a huge impact on my health, well being, energy and  how I feel every day.  This led me to a passion for nutrition and wanting to help others who may face similar health concerns. The old adage, “we are what we eat” is so true and if we can identify how which foods and other behaviors are negatively impacting our health, we can proactively take action and fix or prevent disease and malaise.

To achieve this end, I went back to school to become a Nutritional Therapist Practitioner (NTP) from the Nutritional Therapy Association, with a plan to  start  Nutrition Breakthru. My passion is to help others Breakthru their old habits and change to live an optimal life now and for the rest of their lives.  I have been around nutrition and fitness most of my life playing 18 years of sports and being involved with youth sports camps, fitness studios and athletic training.  I am still very active everyday and, in addition to Nutrition, I believe exercise and physical fitness is very important to everyday physical and emotional balance.

As the owner and founder of Nutrition Breakthru, I have made huge life changes in my own habits to feel, look and live a healthier and happier life. I have dealt with health challenges in my life and found that through proper diet, foundational support and emotional balance I am able to live the best possible life that I deserve and you deserve too.

As  a nutritionist, athlete, friend and coach, I am ready and wanting to work with you so you can create your own success story.
